St. Joseph Catholic School

Letter from Principal

To Know, To Love, To Serve. We live this motto daily at St. Joseph Catholic School where, together with parents, we teach and nurture our students and guide them into being educated, responsible and faith-filled adults. With just over 170 students in preschool through 8th grade, we offer a stable and positive educational experience.

At St. Joseph Catholic School, our students receive individual attention, daily reminders of their importance in the eyes of God, high academic standards, and high expectations for respect and responsibility. We are a welcoming family working together and walking hand-in-hand with God’s guidance to do the very best for our children, and we welcome you to join us.

Mission

St. Joseph School is a disciple community of Jesus. Through a faith-centered education, we recognize and honor the uniqueness of each child and prepare all of our children to meet the spiritual, academic and social challenges of a changing world.

School pledge

I am a student at St. Joseph School. I am a child of God. Today, I promise to do my best and do what is right. I will be respectful, responsible, honest and kind. I am important. I will make a difference.

Academics

Students at St. Joseph Catholic School are taught by certified and highly qualified teachers who offer varied and integrated lessons to reach the needs of each child. We strive to offer academic excellence and learning skills to help students reach their fullest potential. Our strong academic curriculum focuses on high school preparatory courses including language arts, math, science and social studies, along with classes in art, library, music, Spanish, physical education and technology. St. Joseph also offers technology such as an updated computer lab and iPad cart to enhance instruction. Many of our students achieve outstanding scores on standardized tests and go on to take advanced courses in high school.

Faith

Our faith is an integral part of St. Joseph Catholic School. By beginning and ending each day in prayer, and praying throughout the day, we teach our students the value and power of prayer. In addition, we offer daily religion instruction, attend Mass and eucharistic adoration weekly, celebrate reconciliation and feast days, participate in special activities for Advent, pray the Stations of the Cross weekly during Lent, focus on the rosary in October and May to honor Mary, and much more.

As a community of service, we offer countless Christian service opportunities for our students including collections, donations and a Christian service and baseball game day for our 7th graders. A few of the causes we have supported include collecting Toys for Tots, gifts for Operation Christmas Child, food for Catholic Charities Christmas Blessing project for seniors and money for the Humane Society. We also look to help those in need from our own school and parish family.

Enrichment

From strings to soccer, we offer a full range of activities that encourage students to explore their various interests outside of the classroom. Along with strings, band and choir, we have a Recycling Club, Yearbook Club and an active Student Council. Students also are able to participate in boys and girls basketball, soccer and girls volleyball. We always are searching for activities and events for our students to enjoy and have fun.

If you are interested in sending your child to Catholic school but are concerned about the cost, come talk to us about available scholarships and financial aid.
